AUDITIONS

Welcome. Livonia Community Players is pleased that you are considering auditioning for our current show. This is an open audition; no roles have been pre cast. As you read out guidelines below, remember that we are an amateur community theater group; no experience is necessary.

Audition Guidelines

MISS SAIGON
July 24, 25, and 26, 2008
7:30 p.m.
~ New Air Conditioned Location ~
Livonia Senior High School Auditorium
$10 Adults
$8 Seniors & Students
Tickets go on Sale July 1, 2008

For a nonmusical audition you will be expected to read from a script provided by the director. S/he may also require that you arrive with a prepared reading. It need not be memorized but it should reflect some rehearsing. At a musical audition you will be asked to read portions of a script and sing a song. The director may also ask you to come with prepared materials.

Auditions are usually held at one of the buildings on the Livonia Central School campus. Auditions are held in the evening and last approximately two hours.

We prefer that you stay the entire time. If you are unable to stay the entire time, tell the director so s/he can be sure you have a chance to be seen and heard before you leave.

As you are thinking about auditions, keep in mind that participating in a LCP show involves a serious time commitment. Each director will determine the rehearsal schedule, but in general, be prepared to rehearse four to five nights a week for a few hours each night for approximately 6 to 8 weeks prior to the opening of the show.
